One of the biggest issues that made the Film Industry a bit worried in recent times is the capping of ticket prices by the Andhra Pradesh government.
Back then, producers used to decide the price of their tickets, but now, AP Govt’s GO fixed a price and a process on how to hike the prices.
Reports are coming that for the upcoming Sankranthi releases including Megastar Chiru’s Waltair Veerayya and Nandamuri Balayya’s Veera Simha Reddy, the producers, Mythri Movie Makers, are said to be making moves for some extra benefits.
They are said to have approached AP CM Jagan & Govt to allow them to hike ₹50 in the ticket rate on the base price and to allow them to screen an extra 6th show, while they have already got permission to screen 5 shows a day.
They want these exemptions for the first week of the release during the holiday season, such that massive budgets could be recovered in advance.
Whether AP Government agrees to give this boost or not, already Telangana Govt is known for showering such gifts on Telugu Film Industry so we could expect Hyderabad and other places here in Telangana to sell tickets at hiked prices only.
