Dil Raju’s decision to postpone Vijay’s Vaarasudu Telugu release from 11th Jan to 14th January has changed the things. The exhibitor sector is elated with this sudden development since this is going to benefit them largely. All the four star heroes whose films releasing this Sankranthi going to have solo releases in Telugu.
Starting with Ajith’s Thegimpu (Thunivu in Tamil) that is releasing on 11th Jan to Nandamuri Balakrishna’s mass actioner Veera Simha Reddy for 12th Jan to Mega Star Chiranjeevi’s Waltair Veerayya (13th Januarya) to Vijay’s Vaarasudu (14th Jan), this is a good position of films for Sankrathi. Meanwhile, Santosh Shoban’s Kalyanam Kamaneeyam is releasing on 14th Jan as well. UV Creations which is producing the film is hopeful of its content.
Movie lovers could enjoy all the five films on the respective days and can enjoy festival watching films on big screen on the opening day itself.
With sudden postponement of Vaarasudu, Thunivu/Thegimpu is releasing in 170 to 200 theatres in Nizam. The theatres in Andhra and Rayalaseema also increased for Ajith’s film. With this, the film may get good opening in the Telugu states.
And Balakrishna’s Veera Simha Reddy is going to get earth-shattering opening due to huge buzz around the film in trade as well as in the masses. Chiru’s Waltair Veerayya to take off well with the Mega fans thronging to catch Boss film in theatres for festival. Vijay’s Vaarasudu will be on 14th in Telugu due to content delay. This is Vamshi Paidipally and Dil Raju film who are boasting confident of doing well in both states. Only Santosh Shoban’s Kalyanam Kamaneeyam is facing direct clash with Vaarasudu. The makers of Kalyanam Kamaneeyam state their film has its target audiences.
So, all the actors have separate release dates and get good to decent openings. This is a welcome development. How the films fare would certainly depend on the talk and audiences response.
