History has been made. SS Rajamouli’s RRR won a Golden Globe Award. Naatu Naatu won the Best Song Award at the 80th Golden Globe Awards. It happens to be the first Asian song to win a Golden Globe Award. The film’s music director, MM Keeravani received this prestigious award. He is the second Indian music composer to win a Golden Globe after MM Keeravani.
Meanwhile, RRR’s main cast and crew, including Rajamouli, Keeravani, Srivalli, Rama Rajamouli, Ram Charan, NTR Jr and SS Karthikeya have attended the Golden Globe Awards event. They have been in Los Angles for the last few days.
Rajamouli, NTR and Ram Charan have been conducting various interviews during this visit. In these interviews, we can see NTR and Ram Charan trying to speak in an American accent. These videos went viral on social media and many people are trolling the actors for the same. They are asking what is the need to speak in a fake accent when people in the west can understand our Indian accent.
However, they are forgetting that whenever we go to the west, we speak in their accent as a sign of adapting to their culture. There is no harm in attempting to speak in their accent. We should stop criticising our actors and start respecting them for making our country proud by winning such prestigious awards.
Coming back to the Golden Globes, RRR won the Best Song award but lost the Best International Film Award to the Argentinian flick, ‘Argentina 1985’. Now, people are rooting for Naatu Naatu to win the prestigious Oscar Award.
