The Hindi version of ‘Ala Vaikunthapurramloo’ is ‘Shehzada’ and the trailer was dropped by the makers. Young hero Karthik Aaryan reprises the titular role and he walks into the character with best efforts.
The trailer doesn’t waste much time with the plot steps into the deal right away. Senior actor Paresh Rawal essayed Murali Sharma in the Hindi version and the scenes between him and Karthik are okayish compared to the original.
Happening beauty Kriti Sanon makes a good pair with Karthik and the couple have a good chemistry. The trailer is completely dominated by Karthik and so we don’t get to see the rest of the cast like Manisha Koirala, Ronit Roy and others much in the visuals.
‘Shehzada’ trailer gives an impression that it’s a faithful remake but lacks the soul that ‘Ala Vaikunthapurramloo’ had. The most emotional episodes shown in the trailer don’t really connect.
Also the other big minus for ‘Shehzada’ is the music. ‘Ala..’ music was a huge blockbuster and the Hindi film appears to have no catchy song even though music was composed by top musician, Pritam.
Directed by Rohit Dhawan, with ‘Shehzada’ hero Karthik turned producer and co-produced in association with Allu Entertainments, Haarika & Hassine Creations and T-Series Films. The film is releasing on February 10th.
