Hero Vijay and director Vamshi Paidipally’s Vaarasudu will be hitting the screens in a couple of days on January 14th. The Tamil version of the movie titled Varisu hit the screens on 11th. Today, the team hold a press meet.
Dil Raju said, “We took the risk of screening the movie for press and their family, a day prior to the release. We got a standing ovation in the theatre. I went and hugged Vamshi. Both Vamshi and Thaman worked day and night for the last 10 days. After Bommarillu, I got tears in my eyes again for this movie. Thaman will reach the next level in Tamil with this movie. My journey with Vamshi started with Munna. Then he presented NTR differently in Brindavanam. He started doing emotional movies from Oopiri. He took the national award for Maharshi. I feel proud that we went to Tamil and delivered a hit with our first attempt. Vaarasudu will be remembered for a lifetime.”
Vamshi Paidipally said, “The movie started with a small idea. Family is the first priority for me. No family is perfect, but we have only one family. Dil Raju told me to narrate the story to Vijay. The movie was okayed in a single sitting. But the real pressure started from then, as to convince him with the full script. Vijay is one of the biggest stars of India. The response in theatre amazed us. Everybody is talking about Jayasudha garu and Sarathkumar garu. Thaman and I broke into tears, after watching the movie.
I hope the Telugu version will also receive the same kind of reception. I thank Dil Raju for all the trust he had in me. When I first met Rashmika, she told me that she was a big fan of Vijay from her childhood. She’s happy to share screen space with her favorite star. She looks beautiful in the movie. It’s a different feeling for me to have different releases for the movie in Tamil and Telugu. Vaarasudu is a Sankranthi movie. You will make a call to your family members, after watching the movie.”
