Waltair Veerayya has an ordinary first half which heavily depends on entertainment. The viral comedy dialogues of Chiru worked here and there, but everything else fails to engage. The interval block is good with the fight.
The second half is shared by Raviteja and Chiranjeevi in equal parts. The combination scenes of both are just okay, but the presence and energy of Raviteja is totally missing.
With Chiru and Raviteja on screen, it should be loading poonakaalu, but nothing of that sort happens. Continuing the viral comedy in the second half too, Chiru brings the laughs with ‘Jambalakidi Jaarumithaya’ song.
From songs, ‘Boss party’ and ‘Poonakaalu loading’ are good to watch. The Background music sounds monotonous. There are Mutha Mestri references in many parts of the movie and only some worked.
Waltair Veerayya is a routine revenge drama in an old school commercial setup. The entertainment padding that is supposed to work falls flat with weak writing and execution. The director fails to deliver even with stars like Chiru and Raviteja in the movie. The pre-climax and climax are strictly by formula and the emotion could not be felt. Overall, Waltair Veerayya is engaging only in some parts, leaving it an average fare.
