Actress Amala Pual was denied entry into a Hindu temple. The incident which took place recently in Ernakulam of Kerala state. The news came into the light late. But it is now going viral online. According to reports, Amala Paul was not allowed inside Thiruvairanikulam Mahadeva Temple.
Temple authorities stopped Amala visiting the temple shrine reportedly citing her religious identity. As per Temple authorities, only Hindu devotees are allowed to visit the deities of Mahadeva temple. This is as per the Temple protocol, claimed the authorities. Since Amala Paul belongs to Christian religion, some temple authorities reportedly stopped her.
Amala Paul was said to be shocked with this unexpected happening. Instead, the temple authorities suggested Amala to visit the Goddess outside Mahadeva temple.
Meanwhile, Amala didn’t return silently. She wrote her opinion in the Temple’s visitor’s register where she firmly mentioned her thoughts. Amala wrote in the register, ”In the year 2023, it is unfortunate that religious discrimination still persists in our country. This thing is very frustrating for me. I could not approach the deity, but prayed to the spirit from a distance. I hope there will be a change in religious discrimination soon. The time will come when we all treat everyone equally, not on the basis of religion.”
