SS Rajamouli’s “RRR” which shook the world with its “Naatu Naatu” and never seen before action sequences failed to get nominated to the final five lists of “Best Non-English Picture” category in the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA). Another Indian documentary, “All that Breathes,” by Shaunak Sen, has been nominated for Best Documentary for the 2023 BAFTA.
“RRR” recently made history by being the first Asian film to win the “Best Original Song” for its tappy number “Naatu Naatu”. RRR also won the Critics Choice Awards for Best Foreign Language film and Best Song. Now, missing on BAFTA must be disappointing to makers, but they are still in the Oscars race for 2023.

The nominations were announced by actors Hayley Atwell and Toheeb Jimoh. The award ceremony will take place on February 19 at the Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall.
