Rashmika Mandanna shot to fame with “Pushpa” in Bollywood, and during that time she also emerged as a National Crush, which led her to sign a barrage of Hindi movies. Already she has come up with Vikas Bahl’s Goodbye, but that film hasn’t worked at the box office. And the actress’ poor performance also failed to make it an engaging movie. And here comes her second Hindi film “Mission Majnu”, streaming directly on Netflix.
The action of film takes place in mid-1970s during the regime of Indira Gandhi when India has done nuclear tests. The story is all about how an Indian spy Amandeep Singh infiltrates Pakistan to know the nuclear secrets of the enemy nation, and sample this scene: A big Pakistani major general just gives the military secret to a worker (our hero) in his house. In this film that lacked any engagement, Rashmika played the role of a visually-impaired girl Nasreen and this is her second time playing a Pak girl after she has done the same in Sitaramam.
While Rashmika is lucky with Sitaramam as that film turned out to be a phenomenal hit, this second movie isn’t that engaging. Even Rashmika’s role is also not properly etched and except for telling dialogue that she is a fan of Sholay, there is nothing much she could do to this documentary-like movie. That way, her second film in Bollywood also turned out to be a flop.
