Whatever It Is! Chiru And Balayya Scored A Ton

The two Sankranthi 2023 releases, that were produced by the same banner, Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Waltair Veerayya and Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Veera Simha Reddy are out at the box office and proved their mettle. But as the journey of these films started, there are various comments, brickbats, celebrations and controversies, and what have fans to say all about that?

Coming to Megastar Chiru’s Waltair Veerayya, while critics didn’t like the film as most of the ratings ended up between 2.25 to 2.75 stars, the film has beaten all those verdicts. Whether that is Sankranthi season or not, the audience unfurled a red carpet for the movie as it collected ₹200 crores gross now with $2.25 million from the USA market alone. Though some didn’t like the songs, some trolled Devi Sri Prasad for lyrics, and the music department of the movie rocked in theatres.

Cut to the controversies, Chiranjeevi never goes to them, but his interviews given to media outlets have gone viral for the fact that he spoke openly about his stance on politics. From saying that he is not supporting Jagan, nor Pawan, and from clarifying that Mega-Allu families are always the same, Chiru’s words gave everyone goosebumps. And then he stated that the 2.25 stars given to Waltair Veerayya actually mean $2.25 million collection.

Cut to Veera Simha Reddy, the film made news for its bumper openings though reviews haven’t favoured this one either. But then, it went on collecting huge money and has beaten the collections of blockbuster Akhanda too. While Balayya didn’t give any special interviews, his Unstoppable program made the film reach many. At the same time, his recent speeches at the success meet turned out to be controversy, and all of them just brought new attention to the movie. Drinking champagne with Honey Rose at the success party made more noise.

All said and done, fans are feeling that Chiranjeevi and Balayya, despite being the senior most stars in terms of age, have beaten even youngsters and sensational stars when it comes to churning out proper masala films that would mint huge at the box office. That’s why, fans say, these two scored a ton, and there is nothing much to prove or say other than that.
