Whenever a celebrity expires, soon the news of their biopic does rounds everywhere. Despite the fact that many biggies never actually fought for bringing a Padma award to the late actress Jamuna, who is a star heroine of whopping 198 films in her career, are now ready to make a movie on her life and times.
Though details of this project are yet to be out, it is now coming out that a big production house has approached milky beauty Tamannaah Bhatia to play the role of Jamuna in the biopic. They say that after Mahanati featuring Keerthy Suresh as legendary actress Savitri made hulchul at the box office, right now some Tollywood makers are thinking about bringing up Jamuna’s biopic. But here’s the catch.
In fact, for biopics to work, as it happened in the case of Mahanati or Mary Kom’s biopic, there should be a lot of pain the central character goes through. Savitri’s life is an emotional roller coaster ride and the kind of situations she was in and the way she made it through her turbulent marriage, and her alcohol addiction, are the ones that bring empathy to her character. There’s nothing such in Jamuna’s life, as her life is full of smooth processes. So what works in her biopic is something filmmakers need to check twice before making a movie.
At the same time, Tamannaah is known for her glamorous looks throughout her career and Jamuna is quite in contrast to that. So casting the milky siren will be a costly mistake as well as masses might expect something usual. Maybe the makers should find someone like Keerthy Suresh for a role.
