Sundeep Kishan’s Michael also features Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi in a prominent role. Though Vijay Sethupathi is confined to a supporting role, he is a strong support to the film. Vijay Sethupathi proved this with Uppena earlier. However, the makers of Michael seem to be failing to cash in on Vijay Sethupathi’s craze completely.
Besides not having him for the interviews, the makers also failed to get in Vijay Sethupathi for the film’s pre-release event which is certainly not a welcome one. The makers seem to be giving lame excuses. When asked, sources close to the makers said they don’t want to “Use” Vijay Sethupathi and look like they are doing “business” on him. But not many would buy this logic.
Movies are a business and one casts an actor only based on his market. So, what is wrong in bringing an actor for the promotions? Clearly, missing Vijay Sethupathi in the film’s promotions is a huge impact. We have to wait and see how Michael would be received in cinemas this week. Now, everything is on Sundeep Kishan’s shoulders to carry the film and pull in crowds to theatres.
