Don’t Put A ‘Pan-India’ Star Label On Me!

Published by

Releasing a movie in four or five languages makes it a ‘Presence Across Nation’ movie, aka a Pan-India movie. Many actors right now dream about having a pan-India star status. But one of them is not really interested in being called so.

Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi has become a superstar and just his performances saved many movies from becoming duds. In a recent interview with Galatta, Vijay Sethupathi revealed that he is not a fan of the expression ‘pan-India’ star. Vijay asks people not to use the term while referring to him.

Vijay says, ‘No sir, I am an actor. I am not comfortable with that pan-India statement. Sometimes that gives pressure also. I am just an actor and no need to put a label under this. So, that’s enough. I want to do every language film. I want to do a Bengali film, a Gujarati film. So if I get the chance, I’ll go and work there,”

Vijay Sethupathi recently appeared in a guest role in Sundeep Kishan’s Michael. He will be seen in the Bollywood movie Merry Christmas, Aranmanai 4, Gandhi Talks, Mumbaikar, and Jawan.
