Touted to be a small comedy movie, talented actor Suhaas’ latest film “Writer Padmabhushan” is doing pretty well at the ticket windows. Especially in A-centres, comedy movie that ends up with a small message has become the go-to option for many movie lovers.
At this moment, the shocker is that a report is doing rounds that a leading Bollywood production is said to be claiming the copyright of the story of the film.
Remember the film ‘Bareli Ki Barfi’ that featured Kriti Sanon, Ayushman Khurana and Rajkumar Rao in the leads? The story of that film is that Kriti falls in love with an unknown writer of a book and meets publisher Ayushman to find the writer.
Though Ayushman takes her to Rajkumar, introducing the latter as the real writer, it later comes out that Ayushman is the original writer of the book. In fact, a little plot alternation is what Writer Padmabhushan is all about. Also, like how the film is set in Bareli backdrop, here this Telugu movie is set in Vijayawada backdrop.
While if we look at them as two different ideas based on the same theme of an unknown novel writer, then they look like different movies only. But if we look at it from a plagiarised angle, they look the same.
But still, the details of the copyright claim are not fully known except for the fact that few media folks are raving about it. Let’s see what happens.
