Zee5 has just released the trailer for their upcoming series, Taj: Divided By Blood. With a big budget and star-studded cast including Naseeruddin Shah, Aditi Rao Hydari, Rahul Bose, and Sandhya Mridul, the series promises to be a grand spectacle.
Set during the reign of Akbar, the story follows his search for an heir to inherit the throne. However, he doesn’t follow the traditional formula of simply choosing his eldest son. Instead, Akbar is looking for a worthy candidate who can rule the kingdom efficiently.
This sparks a war among the princes, with some willing to go to any lengths to capture the throne, including killing their own siblings. Others are content with their luxurious lifestyles and are not interested in ruling. Additionally, some may be rejected due to their homosexual relationships.
The series has been compared to Game of Thrones, although it is not meant as an allegory to the popular HBO series. Taj: Divided By Blood will be available on Zee5 starting on March 3rd.
