Why Is ’TNM Better Than Pathaan’ Trending?

Published by

Many verified blue-tick-walas on Twitter are actually writing a lot about “The Night Manager” web series, an instant hit series that impressed everyone right from the word go, but that led to another unwanted discussion now. Love for this night manager has now turned into hatred towards Shahrukh Khan’s Pathaan.

On Wednesday afternoon, a trend started on Indian Twitter as the hashtag, “TNM Is Better Than Pathaan” started to trend. In fact, these two are not comparable for a fact that ’The Night Manager’ is a remake of an English web series, which in turn is made out of a richly written novel. But Pathaan is a pure mass bonanza that is made for the silver screen and is purely original, no matter how much it impressed any film lover. Of course, if it hasn’t impressed, surely the film will not collect ₹1000 crores gross.

Needless to say, TNM is quite impressive for its premise, visuals and setup but it is pure OTT stuff only. At the same time, Pathaan is a pure silver screen stuff that is aimed at giving massy treat. And except for the fact that both the subjects deal with the stories of spies who work for the government of India, there is nothing we can compare to. But still, some movie lovers are voicing their opinion strongly on TNM and opposing Pathaan.

On the other hand, some supporters of Pathaan are wondered why even the ‘anti nepotism’ gang is supporting The Night Manager a lot when it has Anil Kapoor and Aditya Roy in the leads as the two have family backgrounds in films, while Pathaan features three self-made stars from middle-class families including Shahrukh, John Abraham and Deepika Padukone.
