Kannada heroine Ragini Dwivedi has been arrested by the Central Crime Branch (CCB) police for her alleged involvement in drugs. Acting on a tip of the CCB, cops have raided Ragini’s house and are said to have gathered some crucial evidence. Based on the evidence, cops have detained Ragini. The arrest of 30-year-old Ragini has become sensational in Sandalwood.
For the last few days, the drug link in Kannada industry is sending shock waves. Earlier, Ragini’s friend and a 40-year-old clerk at the Regional Transport Office (RTO) Ravi Shankar was arrested for allegedly drug peddling. Another Rahul Shetty, reportedly friend of actress Sanjana (Bujjigadu fame) has also been arrested in relation to drugs.
The investigation is currently on. Apparently, Ravi Shankar, Ragini and a few others are said to have attended rave parties. Drugs like marijuana (ganja), cocaine and hashish were used at such parties, said reports.
It all started with the Narcotic Control Bureau (NCB) busting a drug trafficking racket in Bangalore on Aug 26 arresting TV actress Anika and two of her accomplices Ravindran and Anoop. Later, Kannada film producer Inderjit Lankesh on Aug 29 made startling allegations that about a dozen Sandalwood actors were into drugs. He had alleged that some actors. musicians have links with the drug mafia and indulge in rave parties.
At a time, drugs issue is rocking Bollywood, the arrests in Kannada film industry are sending shockwaves across the regional film industries.
