Generally we see big superstars receiving nominations in various awards ceremonies but here is a character artist who was nominated in Best Actor category in one of the most glamorous award ceremonies, The Cannes Film Festival.
The actor is the talented Shafi who featured in films ‘Khadgam’ ‘Varsham’ and ‘Chhatrapati.’ In the short film ‘3:15 AM’ directed by Amit Raj Verma, Shafi played the role of a middle aged man. This is a thriller and has won an award at Los Angeles Film Festival 2023.
Shafi is on cloud nine on receiving the nomination. “It’s an incredible honour to be recognised among such talented actors,” said Shafi. Having featured in more than 50 films, Shafi did not hesitate to do a short film.
“When director Amit approached me, I immediately agreed to do it. Even though it’s a short film, it was a big project for us but never expected that Cannes would recognise our effort,” said Shafi.
All these days, Shafi has been an underrated actor and hopefully he will make it count from now on.
