Senior hero Akkineni Nagarjuna wants to join the race of his colleagues like Megastar Chiru, Balayya and Venkatesh who have scored some big hits in recent times. T
hough Venky’s market hasn’t grown much bigger, both Chiru and Balayya’s films crossed ₹200 and ₹100 crores gross in recent times. But then, the film he chose for this is a bit risky it looks like.
Picking on debuting director Prasanna Kumar, who happens to be the writer of movies like Dhamaka and Cinema Choopista Maava, Nagarjuna is coming up with a vintage drama.
The film is said to have got loaded with lots of visual effects and he is banking on the VFX teams of Annapurna Studios to help him with this. However, some bigwigs are said to have advised Nagarjuna to be careful with VFX and its budgets, as director Prasanna is also quite inexperienced in the arena.
In recent times, there are movies that are actually good but poor visual effects and over-drawn budgets resulted in these films being cost failures and then failing at the box office too.
Even the release of Adipurush got postponed after the bad computer graphics in the teaser disappointed all. That’s the reason these well-wishers are asking Nag to go easy on the VFX part and opt for more sets and simple green screen work.
