Fan wars became uglier after the advent of social media. Heroes don’t have any differences between them. It is fans who create nuisances with unnecessary fights on social media. These fan wars have become more prominent in the case of SS Rajamouli’s action epic RRR.
Since the launch of the movie, fans of both Ram Charan and Jr NTR started fighting with each other on Twitter. Be it the first look poster or the teaser, the comparisons used to continue with every update. These wars intensified after the release of the movie and reached the peak stage during its award run.
Recently, RRR won multiple awards at Hollywood Critics Association Film Awards. Ram Charan attended the event along with the likes of Rajamouli, MM Keeravani and Senthil Kumar. NTR couldn’t attend it due to the demise of Taraka Ratna.
At the ceremony, RRR won the Spotlight Award, as a result each and every team member present at the event was given a trophy with their names etched on it. Had NTR been there, he would have received one too. However, with Hollywood Critics Association tweeting those pictures with the hashtag “Global Star Ram Charan”, the tag went viral on the internet, becoming a trend in India. And Charan fans promoted it to a high, and some of them started to troll NTR fans saying that Tarak hasn’t won that accolade.
The trend went viral when Mahindra Group’s chairman Anand Mahindra quoted Ram Charan as the true Global Star. His context is different and he might have done it due to his personal friendship with Charan and he has nothing against Tarak. But Charan fans used Mahindra’s tweet and used it in their favour.
On the other side, Tarak fans are picking up fights with Charan’s fans for their acts. Meanwhile, Tarak will be flying to the USA in a few days to attend the Oscars ceremony. We have to see how these fights will get intensified once he lands in the US.
