We are done with February, and it turned out to be a disappointing month for the Telugu film industry. Apart from a few films, none of the other movies did well at the box office. Here is the progress report of Telugu films that were released last month.
Hits:
Writer Padmabhushan: Starring Suhaas in the lead role, Writer Padmabhushan was released on February 3. It garnered positive talk right from the first day and emerged to be a clean hit at the box office.
Sir: Dhanush made a stunning debut in Telugu with Sir. It had hit the theatres on February 17. Right from the first show, Sir received a unanimously positive response. It crossed the breakeven mark in just three days and proved to be a super hit at the box office.
Average Performer:
Vinaro Bhagyamu Vishnu Katha: Kiran Abbavaram’s Vinaro Bhagyamu Vishnu Katha was released on February 18th on the occasion of Maha Shivaratri. Though it did well in the first two days, the collections dipped in weekdays. Thus, it ended up as an average venture. It is neither a flop nor a hit.
Flops:
Rest all other releases of last month proved to be flops or disasters at the box office. This list includes Sundeep Kishan’s ambitious project Micheal, Nandamuri Kalyan Ram’s triple-action film Amigos, Sithara Entertainments’ small-budget film Butta Bomma and Santosh Shobhan’s Sridevi Shobhanbabu.
There are some notable releases lined up in March which include Dil Raju’s Balagam (March 3), Naga Shaurya’s Phalana Abbayi Phalana Ammayi (March 17) and Nani’s Dasara (March 30). We have to see how these films perform at the box office.
