Director Indraganti Mohankrishna has delivered the first high budget film of his career through Nani’s V, which also has Sudheer Babu, Aditi Rao Hydari and Nivetha Thomas as other leads. This landmark 25th film of Nani hasn’t fetched good reviews with everyone beating their heads due to the routine content it has offered.
During the interviews he has given to promote ‘V The Movie’, Indraganti kept telling that he has got the idea of “V” back in the 2000s and wanted this to be his first film ‘Ashta Chemma’. That implies that this idea is almost 15 years old and holds nothing fresh for the new generation to boast about. Also this type of conflict, an anti-hero like hero who has a flashback to support his vengeance and a sincere cop to catch the criminal, is seen in many films including that of Gajini, Tagore and others. But what needs to be done is infusing fresh screenplay, new-gen narrative and novel thoughts.
Rather trying to bring new touches to V script by putting stuff like communal riots, Indraganti should have avoided this script. One wonder what Nani liked in this story, but frankly speaking, his role is below par than any villain roles some of Telugu cinema’s best commercial films have ever shown.
