Tamil action thriller ‘Pathu Thala’ is generating a lot of interest in the South film circuit. The makers released its official teaser last evening. Directed by Obeli N. Krishna, the film is an adaptation of the Kannada film ‘Mufti’ from 2017, with a screenplay also written by Krishna. ‘Pathu Thala’ is set to hit theaters on March 30th.
The movie stars Silambarasan, Gautham Karthik, Priya Bhavani Shankar, and Teejay Arunasalam. The story, written by Narthan, follows an undercover police officer tasked with tracking and capturing a dangerous gangster.
While the plot remains largely the same as the original, ‘Pathu Thala’ features a major change in its music, with A.R. Rahman composing the soundtrack. This addition is expected to attract a larger audience.
Farook J. Basha is the cinematographer, and the visuals look impressive. Despite the possibility of ‘Pathu Thala’ falling into the cliché gangster thriller genre, the involvement of notable names in the production gives hope that the film will offer a unique and fresh perspective.
The movie is set to hit theaters on March 30th. There are chances for the film getting dubbed to Telugu but the makers did not confirm the same yet.
