Tamil actor Simbu is back in form by scoring back-to-back hits with Maanaadu and Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu. Currently, he is busy with the works of his upcoming film Paththu Thala, which will hit the screens later this year.
If the ongoing buzz is anything to go by, he will be soon acting in a big-budget movie under the direction of Desingh Periaswamy of Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal (Kanulu Kanulanu Dochayante) fame. Kamal Haasan will be bankrolling the project.
According to the sources, Simbu will play a dual role in it. We hear that both characters will have distinct characterizations. Apparently, this film will be made on a mammoth budget of Rs. 100 crores, making it the most expensive project in Simbu’s career. The collaboration of Simbu and Kamal is also an interesting factor in this project.
Earlier, news reports stated that Desingh narrated a script to Superstar Rajinikanth, and the latter liked it as well. But for some unknown reasons, this project didn’t take off, and Rajini started Jailer with Nelson Dilipkumar.
We don’t know if Desingh is doing the same film with Simbu or if this is a completely different story. An official announcement about this project is expected to be made soon.
