While people just see a TV commercial or a song attached to it, usually brands look at the way they could penetrate. To kickstart their summer campaign, two big soft drink brands have now come up with songs, but it looks like the audience is not happy about them.
Soft-drink giant Pepsi’s summer campaign in India features Ranveer Singh who recently gave up Thums Up, as he starred in this remix of an old Hindi song. The song Yahaan Ke Hum Sikander from Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar which was composed by Jatin-Lalit got remixed for him.
At the same time, Coca-Cola’s ad features Tiger Shroff, a former brand ambassador of Pepsi, in the remix song of Honthon Pe Bas from Yeh Dillagi. And the biggest problem is that these remixes didn’t click.
While Coke has this Coke Studio where they produce independent music, many are wondering why would they opt for an old remix that wouldn’t find any relevance with the new age audience. At the same time, Pepsi’s original ‘Yeh Dil Maange More’ campaign was a big hit back then, and one wonders why would they go for a remix song now.
Perhaps that is the reason fans of neither Ranveer Singh nor Tiger Shroff are liking these ads much. Well, the brands should take note of that.
