We are just two days away from the Oscars 95 event in which our own Naatu Naatu song from RRR may win the award in the Best Original Song category. While the whole country is excited and looking forward to watching the Oscars, the ugly quarrels about it are not stopping in Tollywood.
The other day, it was reported that film producer Tammareddy Bharadwaj commented that Rajamouli and his team have spent 80 crores to promote and put RRR in the Oscars race. K Raghavendra Rao tweeted if Tammareddy has accounts of the said amount and how could he make these comments. He even asked if James Cameron and Steven Spielberg also took money to praise RRR.
And yesterday, Naga Babu also tweeted, ‘Neeyamma mogudu Kharchupettadara 80 crores RRR ki Oscar kosam’ in a rather indirect but unwanted comment against Tamnaredddy, Well, the veteran producer Tammareddy responded to all these comments in a subtle way and ended the controversy once for all.
Tammareddy explained, ‘There was an aspiring filmmakers meet where the youngsters were asking questions about awards, rewards, business, and film festivals. It was nearly a three-hour session and only a clip of one minute was sent out resulting in the controversy. All I said to them was RRR makers could have spent this much of amount to promote and campaign, advising them to not resort to such expensive campaigns.’
‘It is hurting to see people asking me for ‘accounts’ and even bringing ‘amma mogudu’ etc. I also could react the same way but my brought up is stopping me from stooping to such low levels. I don’t have any identity crisis and people reacting to my comments in this way could be suffering from it. I told them what I have to do and I don’t want to continue this. Earlier, I posted that we all should be proud of Rajamouli for placing our Telugu cinema in the Oscars race and no one reacted to it‘, he concluded.
