These days Telugu industry is being very cautious when it comes to picking up remake movies. Though Dil Raju scored a hit with Pawan Kalyan’s Vakeel Saab, a remake of Pink, and then made good profits with a few other remakes he distributed, as well as a dubbed film like Love Today, he’s not keen on doing more remake movies. Here is what we are hearing about his moves now.
Apparently, the Malayalam film ‘Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey’ was a runaway hit at the box office and it made a huge splash on the OTT too. Though the story’s focal point of women empowerment and the need to respond to physical violence on the domestic front is the need of the hour, the content didn’t impress Telugu folks much. Most of the Telugu middle-class women are well advanced in life than shown in the film, thus making Dil Raju rethink remaking this movie.
Reports are now doing rounds that ace hero Aamir Khan liked the film so much that he obtained the remake rights of the movie. He might be going ahead to produce the film with Fatima Sana Sheikh as the lead after the Hindi writers adapt the film to suit the nativity of Uttar Pradesh or Rajasthan, they say.
Well, these days remakes are not working out in Hindi as well owing to the nativity and narrative factor. So we have to see if Aamir Khan’s attempt turns out like a Drishyam 2 or a Shehzaada.
