Comedian Turpu Jayaprakash Reddy, who died of a severe cardiac arrest early today, has left Tollywood in shock and grief. However, his last wish for the Telugu states is heartwarming.
The veteran actor who came from a theater background wished to see theatre, art develop in Telugu states. He wished for the revival of the culture of dramas, plays in theaters.
In his last interview, he had expressed his wish to be part of some dramas and plays during his retirement. He had also expressed that he doesn’t like to be part of insignificant roles. He had told directors that he would only take up roles that have good screen presence.
Popular as JP in film circles, the 74-year-old actor died in Guntur. His last big film was Mahesh Babu’s Sarileru Neekevvaru. His role in the film got noticed well. Although he had done small roles at the early of his acting career, it was Balakrishna’s Samarasimha Reddy that cemented his position. He went on to act in films like Jayam Madae Raa. His association with director Sreenu Vaitla became popular as the duo’s work was much appreciated.
Not many are aware that minister Nakka Anand Babu was a student of JP. JP had served as a teacher in Guntur district and Nakka Anand Babu was his student. Details about JP’s family members are little known to industry people. JP’s wife is Rajya Lakshmi. JP has son Chandrprakash Reddy and daughter Vipula.
