The Telugu Warriors are one of the most popular teams in the CCL. This time, living up to the expectations, the Telugu Warriors ended up lifting the cup.
In the latest edition, the Telugu Warriors had a tough road to the finals, with strong contenders like the Karnataka Bulldozers and the Bhojpuri Dabbangs in their path. However, they overcame these teams with exceptional performances, particularly from two of their star players – Thaman and Akhil Akkineni.
In the semi-finals against the Karnataka Bulldozers, Thaman’s performance with the bat was instrumental in securing victory for the Telugu Warriors. Thaman, a popular music composer in the Telugu film industry, displayed his cricketing prowess by putting on 25 runs in 15 balls. Roshan also helped with a good start by scoring 27 runs in just 15 balls during the chase. Samrat Reddy, too helped the team by picking up four wickets in 2 overs. Thaman’s performance in the crucial time landed the team in the finals.
Similarly, in the grand finals, it is Akhil Akkineni who snatched the game away from Bhojpuri Dabbangs. Akhil, leading from the front with an unbeaten 67 off just 32 balls. Akhil’s incredible batting skills proved to be the difference between the two teams. Thaman also did a fantastic job by taking two wickets in the second innings. Ashwin Babu also did a fair job.
Both Thaman and Akhil have been star players from the beginning of the league, and they played to their potential. The Celebrity Cricket League has become a platform for these actors to showcase their love for cricket, and it has also helped to promote the sport among a wider audience.
