​Opinion: Young Sensation Wasting Her Stardom?

Sree Leela made a dazzling debut in Tollywood with the 2021 film Pelli SandaD. She rose to stardom by scoring a blockbuster with her second film Dhamaka. After that, everyone expects her to do big star-studded films. But she is choosing second-fiddle roles.

After Dhamaka, it would have been better if Sree Leela had opted to work with the likes of Nani, Varun Tej, Sai Dharam Tej, Nithiin, and Sharwanand. If she scored hits with those heroes, she would have acted alongside big heroes like Ram Charan, Jr NTR, and Allu Arjun.

But Sree Leela chose to play second fiddle in Superstar Mahesh Babu’s SSMB 28 and Nandamuri Balakrishna’s NBK 108. Pooja Hegde is playing the main female lead in SSMB 28. Even though the makers are saying that Sree Leela is also the heroine, it is evident that Pooja will get more screen space.

On the flip side, Sree Leela is playing a crucial role in NBK 108. Kajal is paired alongside Balayya. Thus, Sree Leela is technically not the heroine of this film.

Industry sources opined that she should have opted for heroine roles in at least tier-2 heroes’ films rather than doing these second heroine roles in star heroes’ films.
