Never did Nani get such harsh criticism from critics and audiences alike, until ‘V The Movie’ released. Many opined that he has become that actor who delivers only routine performance all the time. Just in case if you are wondering why a star who is called “Natural Star” is getting subjected to severe criticism, here’s an interesting take.
Inside V, what most people dislike is the way Nani carried an army man’s character. Rather the hero twirling his moustache, flaunting that beard and mouthing the same old styled low-voice dialogues, he should have invented new body language like a Tom Cruise who re-invents his body language for every film.
Time and again, Nani will never work on his body language for the character, but he does every character in his own style. That’s the reason his action films are failing to click as he is unable to carry the weight of those characters, unlike those boy-next-door roles. And then, a little bit of logical support to his character in the movie from Indraganti Mohan Krishna’s side would have helped the actor.
While he enthralled us in films like Astha Chemma, Eega, Bhale Bhale Magadivoyi and Majnu with his enticing performance in lover-boy type roles, his inability to invent new body language for movies like Gang Leader, Krishnarjuna Yuddam and V has portrayed some strong action-backed characters in a poor light. No doubt, Nani is a natural star, but conditions apply if you are doing an action film with him.
