When Comedy Turns Serious!

Published by

Telugu cinema produced many actors who are exceptional with comical skills. Many comedians entertained us through the years. But there is another side to these actors, which is rarely explored. Many comedians are now showcasing their least explored side. Here is a look at them.

Brahmanandam:

Legendary comedian Brahmanandam made us cry with his performance in the recent film Ranga Marthanda. After a long time, he played a serious role and he proved why he is considered one of the best actors in Indian cinema.

Sunil:

Of late, Sunil has been doing supporting roles and negative roles. Everyone knows that he can make us laugh. But he proved that he can be a menacing villain as well, with the film Pushpa. He will be seen in Pushpa 2 soon. Sunil is acting in a negative role in Superstar Rajinikanth’s upcoming film Jailer as well.

Allari Naresh:

Allari Naresh is known for his comedy movies. But he changed his route and is picking up serious subjects for the last few years. In 2021, he scored a hit with the legal drama Naandhi. Now, he is aiming to repeat the success with another serious film, Ugram. Naresh plays a cop in it.

Priyadarshi:

Whenever he got a chance, Priyadarshi proves his talent by doing serious roles. Mallesham and Balagam are prime examples of Priyadarshi’s acting brilliance. He is more than a comedian.

Venu Tillu:

After entertaining us in comic roles for years, Venu turned as a director with Balagam. Everyone thought that he is making a comedy movie. But Balagam turned out to be a fine emotional heart-wrenching drama. All of a sudden, Venu the director became greater than Venu the actor.

Kovai Sarala:

Kovai Sarala made us laugh with her comedy timing in many films. But with her recent Tamil film Sembi, she made audiences cry to the core. This emotional drama is available to stream in multiple languages on Disney+ Hotstar.
