In the recent past we have seen horrific crimes like chopping the partner into pieces and stuff. But did this trend begin recently? It’s no and here is a case that was said to be the most challenging to the Indian Judicial system and it had recorded many firsts.
Bengaluru based real estate developer, Shakereh Khaleeli went missing in the year 1991 and after three years of sting operation, the Karnataka Police found a breakthrough in this case and zeroed on Shakereh Khaleeli’s husband Swami Shradhananda.
Based on this murder, Amazon Prime is bringing the first Indian true crime documentary with the title ‘Dancing On The Grave.’ The trailer is out and it’s truly chilling. Shakereh has four daughters with her first husband and they describe how their mother went through life with Swami Shradhananda.
This case happens to be the first where the exhumation (digging up a corpse) process was recorded on video and the first time that DNA tests and videotapes of the exhumation were accepted as evidence in India/ Indian Judicial System.
The trailer is a bit shaky but promises an intriguing watch. The web-series will be streaming from April 21st.
