If we could remember the dialogue from Arjun Reddy, where a friend says, ‘Sometimes the body warns you to do all the kick-giving stuff’, that rightly applies to films in India right now. Audiences are asking heroes to not come up with routine formulaic films anymore. But then, some heroes don’t want to listen it looks like.
The trailer of Gopichand’s Rama Banam got released other day, and it is directed by Sriwass who has earlier given two hits to the hero in the form of Lakshyam and Shouryam. However, looking at the trailer, one could feel that it is fully loaded with full of routine formulaic mass content with a touch of sentiment, Telangana-slang mass song and some high-octane action sequences.
While audiences are watching such films from Chiranjeevi and Balakrishna, they are nowhere entertaining other heroes if they did the same. And many are wondering why would Gopichand pick up this formulaic film.
In recent times, most of Gopichand’s films including Pantham, Chanakya, Seetimaar, Aradugula Bullet and Pakka Commercial are disasters at the box office only. Moreover, all these movies are formulaic stuff that never gave any right excitement to the audience to watch them. But still, Gopi is failing to re-invent himself though he has immense potential as an actor. One wonders about this, only to ask him, why Gopichand, why?
