Akhil’s Agent is all set to hit the screens on 28th April. Akhil and the team are going all out in promoting the film. Aggressive promotions are garnering buzz. But the film’s lavish budget is worrying the trade. The film started with an estimated budget of 25 crore shot upto 80 crore which is the film’s landing cost. This is more than three times more than the initial estimation. While Covid and delay added to the budgets, the makers failed to control the costs as well.
However, what matters most in deciding a film’s fate is the strong content and stardom of the protagonist. As producer Anil Sunkara himself stated that Baahubali erased the upper limit of a film. Now, all eyes are on Akhil and whether he would pull off such a rare feat.
In Akhil’s career, he hardly has successes to his credit. Barring Most Eligible Bachelor which is decent, Akhil doesn’t have major hits at the box office. This is certainly a worrying factor. The budget of Agent is putting a lot of pressure on Akhil. The target is huge at the theatres. Will Akhil overcome these obstacles and score success? Will Akhil silence his critics?
