It looks like Akhil Akkineni’s preferred film genre is action-drama, as indicated by his starting role in the action-fantasy movie Akhil—which unfortunately did not perform well at the box office. Miserably, his recent action movie Agent had the same result. It appears that despite his enthusiasm for producing movies with an action focus, it does not seem to be a two-way corridor.
It is recommended that Akhil take a page from Global Star Ram Charan’s book, and approach his career with caution. Rather than jumping straight into commercial action projects, Akhil should start with more down-to-earth films that would appeal to the Telugu audience. As such, Charan’s Rangastalam will serve as the perfect example of how this can be done successfully. Only after building the necessary base and reputation with these smaller films, then Akhil can consider taking on bigger roles in blockbuster movies like Agent or Dhruva.
Furthermore, it is important for any actor, not just Akhil, to understand their abilities before attempting a movie like Agent. It requires them to carry a big acting prowess and screen presence alongside the story. Though Magadheera is an industry hit, it took years for Ram Charan to beget big action roles and prove his mettle. Maybe Akhil should take a leaf from Charan in planning his career and should plan cute and simple moves until he gets that stardom.
