With Akhil’s Agent turned out to be a huge disappointment with critics and audiences rejecting the film and even bashing online and trade declared it as an outright disaster, none other than the film’s producer Anil Sunkara took to Twitter and admits the colossal failure of Agent.

Sunkara on record stated that Agent was started without bound script which came as a shocker. He went onto review over Agent’s failure and listed out the reasons on what went completely wrong. Sunkara said the film right from its beginning suffered innumerable issues. While stating that Covid was one of the reasons, he also said don’t want to give excuses. He said it’s a costly mistake and said would learn from it. He said he would not repeat such mistakes in future.

As per trade, it is estimated that the film’s landing cost is pegged at ₹ 80 crore. Producer Sunkara released the film in theatres with huge deficit and the film got backlash from audiences for director Surender Reddy’s poor direction. Distributors are expected to lose heavily too.

Amidst all this, Sunkara wrote, “ We have to take the entire blame for #Agent. Though we know its an uphill task, we thought of conquering but failed to do so as we did a blunder starting the project without a bound script & innumerable issues including covid followed. We don’t want to give any excuses but learn from this costly mistake and see how we can turnaround to make sure, we will never repeat the mistakes. Our sincere apologies to all those who put trust on us. We will make it up for the losses with dedicated planning & hardwork in our future projects.”
