Allari Naresh is well-known for his impeccable comedic timing. However, in recent years, the actor has shifted to thriller, spy and horror genres for his film career. With all that in mind, it’s exciting news that he is returning to the world of comedy post his release of Ugram–an action thriller. In anticipation of the upcoming movie’s release, Allari Naresh has shared some insights about his return to comedy.
When an interviewer asked Naresh that, “It is easy to do a comedy role in your previous movies. But how challenging was the role of a police officer in Ugram?” actor Naresh replied: “Actually, comedy roles can be quite difficult. But I believe that comedians who do it well are capable of playing any type of role. For example, Brahmanandangaru’s performance in Rangamarthanda was different from what we’ve seen before when it comes to comedy. As there are fewer people writing and making comedy content these days and with the rise of OTT platforms, producers seem to be interested in doing more dark genre films instead”.
But then, he gave the hope that his next will be a big comedy only. “That being said, I’m sure I’ll be able to do yet another superb comedy film under my own EVV banner soon enough! From Bendu Apparao to Thottigang, I’ve always made some amazing comedies which have been super hits with audiences – now I just need to find the right story! Many stories have come my way but none that fully satisfy me yet, but soon I will be starting a comedy film” he assured.
However, late E.V.V Satyanarayana, was solely responsible for major successes like Kithakithalu, Athili Sattibabu LKG, Bendu Apparao RMP and Kathi Kantha Roa it appears more difficult to replicate that success with other directors due to their unpredictability. Achieving the kind of success his father presented to him requires thorough work and exceptional skill. Let’s see how will Naresh’s Ugram fare first, and then the comedy film he intends to take up.
