The IPL 2023 matches are running without a hitch. However, the nail-biting moments at the last minute of certain games have kept audiences on their toes. For instance, Rajasthan Royals vs Sunrisers Hyderabad looked to be lost but in a clutch move, Sunrisers made an impressive comeback at the finish line.
Sunrisers Hyderabad completed an impressive victory, hitting a flurry of sixes and fours at the end of the match. Rajasthan Royals, however, were not so pleased with the results and vented their frustration on social media which has led to them facing backlash from fans.
The Rajasthan Royals team posted a tweet in praise of their captain Sanju Samson but utilized the acronym ‘RRR’ with unknown intent, “SSS (skipper sanju samson) 🏏 > RRR 🎬”. This caused a stir online, with many Telugu audience feeling insulted, However, it is good that they shower praises on any captain in this. But in the middle what did the RRR movie do? No one understood this. Perhaps RRR was used instead of Sunrisers as it was a Telugu film.
In reply, RRR Movie and DVV Entertainment reached out with humorous meme videos featuring Ravi Teja and Brahmanandam in one of their celebrated scenes, where Ravi Teja hits Brahmanandam in the movie. and in another DVV Entertainment meme, ‘Thirty years Prithvi hits Srinivasa Reddy and says ‘Tata Teesta and Pettura signature’. This garnered support among many Tollywood celebrities and resonated positively with audiences due to its nostalgia. The overall sentiment of Twitter towards the team’s message quickly shifted in the face of these popular replies!
After the trolling incident, Rajasthan Royals took to Twitter to apologize for the actions. They wrote, “This movie (RRR) reached the world. So our apology should too… PS: SSS and RRR ” and since then, social media have been abuzz with tweets and videos regarding this.
