Custody: Will Chay Break Jinx?

Akkineni compound has been tasting back-to-back failures. This has pushed fans into despair and disappointment. Right from Nagarjuna’s Wild Dog to The Ghost to Chaitanya’s Thank You to Akhil’s Agent, all the films ended up as Box Office duds leaving distributors and producers in losses and fans in distress. Amidst this, the trailer of Custody brought a lot of hopes among the fans.

As Custody directed by Venkat Prabhu is slated for release in Telugu and Tamil on 12th May, Akkineni fans are very curious and keep their fingers crossed. Even if a decent to average talk, fans may own the movie and make it highly successful. The bookings are going to pick up and the film may have a good run at the ticket windows.

Director Venkat Prabhu has got a good reputation in Tamil. His last film Maanadu was critically acclaimed as well as commercially successful. In between, he did an anthology webseries and Custody is his immediate film after Maanadu. All these factors are expected to help the film in the Tamil market. In Telugu, Chay is the face of the movie and Krithi Shetty too has a decent following among youth.

So positive to decent talk and good word of mouth is needed for Custody to run well at the cinemas. This is a very crucial film for Chay and Akkineni family to make a solid comeback. Even distributors and exhibitors are tired and looking for a successful movie to bring back the glory of theatres and audiences to cinemas in this Summer season.
