The Trend Of Apologizing After Flop Movie – Who Is Affected?

Published by

From celebrating a movie’s success on the release day evening irrespective of its result to apologizing openly after delivering a flop movie, a major change we have seen of late with movie stars.

Though Akhil Akkineni did not really apologize, he openly admitted to delivering a disaster while thanking the team, however. Earlier, the producer of Agent Anil Sunkara came out apologizing to the people for disappointing Agent. This trend of apologizing for flop movies is growing big recently, but where does it end and who is the most affected person from these open letters?

Undoubtedly the director is the one who gets most of the blame for a movie’s result even if no one speaks about it. But when a producer and a hero of the movie openly agree that their movie went on to become a disaster, they will be appreciated for their genuine honesty. The ‘captain of the ship’ can neither explain if it is totally his fault nor he could refuse to take the blame.

In similar cases, Ram Charan apologized to fans and the audience after Vinaya Vidheya Rama and Varun Tej did it with Ghani. There were instances where Chiranjeevi also talked about Acharya’s failure attributing the reason for the result to the director Koratala Siva, who did not speak a word to date. It might be their generosity or responsibility to compensate the losses for distributors, but when heroes and producers agree upon something and go through the whole process from start to end, blaming just the director openly is unfair.

These open letters might have a bad impact on the technicians that worked on the film and it has to be seen if the trend stops soon. In a small interview after many years from now, the director might talk about how the movie ended up like that just like Meher Ramesh revealed why Shakti failed which is too late by then.
