Being a star kid only gives an actor a launchpad into the film industry but cannot make him a star. He needs to score super hits to establish himself as a star. Tamil hero Chiyaan Vikram’s son Dhruv Vikram made his debut four years ago but is yet to cement his place in the industry.
Dhruv made his debut with the 2019 film Aditya Varma. It is an official remake of the Telugu hit Arjun Reddy. It was directed by Girisaaya. Aditya Varma failed to impress the audience and remained a flop at the box office. Later, Dhruv took a long gap and came up with Mahaan last year.
Directed by Karthik Subbaraj, this movie featured his father Vikram in the other lead role. While Vikram played the role of a gangster, Dhruv was seen as a cop. It had a direct OTT release on Amazon Prime Video. Though Dhruv received accolades for his performance, Mahaan failed to get a ‘hit’ tag.
Now, Dhruv is aiming to score his maiden success at any cost. Recently, it was rumoured that he will team up with director Maari Selvaraj. Currently, Maari Selvaraj is busy with the works of his ongoing project Maamannan. He will start working on Dhruv’s film once he gets done with Maamannan.
Meanwhile, we hear that Dhruv is planning to do a new film with Dada director Ganesh Babu, before he starts Maari Selvaraj’s film. An official announcement about this project is expected to be made soon. We have to see if Dhruv can score his first success with any of these films.
