Director Ajay Bhupathi of ‘RX 100’ fame is coming up with a raw and rustic action thriller titled ‘Mangalavaram’, whose shoot was completed on June 12 after 99 working days. Nearly 50% of the working days involved night shoots. To be released in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam languages, the film stars Payal Rajput in a banger of a role as per producers Swati Reddy Gunupathi and Suresh Verma. The director is producing the movie on A Creative Works with Mudra Media Works.
“We have produced the movie without compromising on content and quality. Ajay Bhupathi is honing a killer of a film in a genre that has never been seen on the Indian screen,” the makers said.
The filmmaker’s treatment will be on display when the film’s teaser and trailer, whose release dates are yet to be locked, will be out. “There are a total of 30 characters in this village-based action thriller,” the director says.
Payal Rajput, as Shailaja, is expected to be seen in an intimate, bold role. The emotional and visually gritty movie was scripted with care, the makers say.
With Dasarathi Shivendra as the director of photography, the film has music by Ajaneesh Loknath. Edited by Madhav Kumar Gullapally, the film’s art direction and production design are by Mohan Talluri and Raghu Kulkarni, respectively. Real Satish and Prithvi are the fight masters. Raja Krishnan, a recipient of the National Award, is its sound designer.
