A Sneak Peek Into The key Facts Of Adipurush

We are less than 24 away from releasing one of the most-anticipated films of 2023, Adipurush. Starring Prabhas in the lead role, this movie is directed by Om Raut. Prabhas played the role of Lord Rama, while Kriti Sanon and Saif Ali Khan essayed the roles of Sita and Ravan, respectively. Here are some interesting facts about this film.

  1. Om Raut was inspired by the 1992 animation film Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama and wrote Adipurush. While the former was an animation film, the latter was a motion-capture 3D film.
  2. Adipurush was originally made with a budget of Rs. 400 crores. But the teaser, released last year, got a poor response. Everyone slammed the poor VFX work. Then the makers postponed the release and reworked the VFX by spending additional 100 crores. The total budget now stands at Rs. 500 crores.
  3. Kriti Sanon was not the first choice for the female lead role. The makers considered the likes of Anushka Shetty, Anushka Sharma, Keerthy Suresh, and Kiara Advani before Kriti came on board.
  4. During Adipurush’s shoot in 2021, the film’s set caught fire in Mumbai. Luckily, no injuries or casualties were reported. Later, the makers built a new set and shot the remaining scenes.
  5. Adipurush was supposed to have a world premiere at Tribeca Film Festival on June 13. For some unknown reasons, the plan was dropped.
  6. Adipurush’s pre-release event was held in Tirupati on June 6. The makers spent Rs. 2 crores for this event.
  7. Prabhas became the highest-paid actor in the country by taking a remuneration of Rs. 150 crores for Adipurush.
  8. The makers also planned to release Adipurush in the IMAX format. But for some unknown reason, the plan was dropped.
  9. Actor Sharad Kelkar of The Family Man fame dubbed Prabhas’s voice in the Hindi version. Earlier, Sharad dubbed Prabhas’s voice in the Baahubali series.
