Post Bollywood hero Sushant Singh Rajput’s tragic suicide, the entertainment industry is being targeted by the media. The topic of drugs and nepotism are constantly making it to the headlines and with actress Rhea Chakraborty getting arrested by the Narcotics, the issues seems to be unending.
Bhojpuri actor Ravi Kishan raked up this row in the Parliament yesterday. Speaking he said, “Drug addiction is in the film industry too. Some celebrities have accepted this while the NCB has been doing very good work. I urge the central government to take strict action against the culprits and punish everyone who is involved.”
But these comments did not go down well with Rajya Sabha MP Jaya Bachchan. She backed the film industry and fumed on Ravi Kishan for summing up the entire industry while it’s individuals who are doing so.
“People in the entertainment industry are being flogged by social media. People who made their names in the industry have called it a gutter. I completely disagree. I hope that the government tells such people not to use this kind of language,” said Jaya as quoted by ANI.
Adding, Mrs Bachchan said, “I am ashamed that yesterday one of our members in Lok Sabha, who is from the film industry, spoke against it. It is a shame.”
