Prabhas’s Adipurush was released a couple of days ago amid huge expectations. Everyone was excited to relive the magic of the mythological epic Ramayana on the big screen. But to people’s shock, Adipurush was a ‘modern’ adaptation of Ramayana.
Many people lashed out at the makers for the cringe characterization of Ravan and poorly-written dialogues for Hanuman. They opined that the film is not Ramayana.
Since the beginning, the makers have promoted Adipurush as the modern version of Ramayana. But after receiving a negative response, they are changing their stand. The film’s writer Manoj Muntashir said that Ramayana, not an adaptation, inspired Adipurush.
In a recent interview, Manoj said, “The film’s name is Adipurush. Let me clarify that Ramayana, not an adaptation, inspires it. We have mentioned the same in the film’s disclaimer as well. We know that our film is heavily inspired by Ramayana, but we are clear that we are not making Ramayana. We are not even making Sampoorna Ramayana. Our film just takes inspiration from Yudh Khaand of the mythological epic.”
The makers are now getting troubled by netizens even more for changing their words after receiving a negative response.
