Adipurush received a lot of criticism for many reasons. The movie turned the center of trolls for its making, dialogues, presentations, characters, and even for the VFX work. In the latest, Adipurush movie makers have been slammed by the Allahabad court.
The Allahabad High Court ridiculed the Adipurush movie and its makers for the wrong depiction that hurts the religious sentiments in the country. The court directed co-writer Manoj Muntashir Shukla to be made a party in the case issuing him the notice to respond within a week.
This hearing was about the petition demanding a ban on Adipurush, while the makers are claiming it to be a mythological action film based on the Hindu epic Ramayana.
‘The nature of dialogues in the film is a big issue. Ramayana is a paragon for us. People read Ramcharitmanas before leaving home. If we close our eyes on this issue too, because it is said that the people of this religion are very tolerant, will it be put to test as well?’, the court asked.
The court further said, ‘It is good that people did not harm the law and order situation after watching the film. Lord Hanuman and Sita have been shown like they are nothing. These things should have been removed from the very beginning. Some scenes seem to be in the “A” (adult) category. It’s very difficult to watch such films.’
Mentioning it a ‘very serious matter’, the court questioned the censor board on what it was doing about the dialogues and the scenes. The court got furious over the disclaimer added in the film and asked, ‘Do the people who put the disclaimer consider the countrymen, and youth, to be brainless? You show Lord Rama, Lord Laxman, Lord Hanuman, Ravana, Lanka and then say it is not Ramayana?’
The court said in a shocking statement, ‘Be thankful nobody vandalized it, We saw it on the news that people went to the theatres and they only forcing to shut down the film.’
The court hearing will continue tomorrow.
