In recent times, Bollywood has seen its biggest hit in the form of Shahrukh Khan’s Pathaan, but before that, there was a huge dull period at the box office.
Except for Karthik Aryan’s Bhool Bhulaiya 2, nothing worked out. But this year, top Bollywood critics and trade analysts are lifting some films to the sky, which amazes us if those films are real blockbusters.
Right now, Bollywood folks are saying that last Thursday’s release Satyaprem Ki Kahani is a superhit film that is storming the box office. It is being reported that the film made nearly ₹26+ crores nett from the box office until Saturday.
Featuring Karthik Aryan and Kiara Advani in the leads, the film’s reviews are pretty average to below average, but then, trade analysts are projecting that it will be touching ₹80-100 crores in the long run; which makes us really wonder.
Recently, Vicky Kaushal and Sara Ali Khan starrer Zara Hatke Zara Bachke was credited with a ₹80+ crores box office collection despite Adipurush crushing the film’s chances from its third week. The film was projected like a superhit despite the average talk around it, and that brings us to the question if these movies are genuine hits or just engineered PR tricks to showcase the industry in a good light.
Though Adipurush collected more than ₹400 crores collection already from the worldwide box office with half of it coming from Hindi circuits, Bollywood folks are not actually interested to talk about it in any way. Well, that certainly raises more doubts over their so-called new hits.
