Prabhas fans from all over the country eagerly woke up early this morning in anticipation of the teaser release for his upcoming film Salaar. Directed by Prashanth Neel, this film brings together the talents of the renowned director of KGF and the iconic actor from Baahubali.
However, it is fair to say that fans were left somewhat unsatisfied with the teaser. They were expecting to witness Prabhas in a full-fledged action-packed avatar, delivering powerful dialogues. Regrettably, the teaser didn’t even provide a clear view of his face.
The teaser is infused with shades reminiscent of KGF, suggesting that Salaar may exist within the same universe. Reports indicate that Prashanth Neel deliberately downplayed the teaser, even though the film has already generated tremendous buzz in the market. It is certain to command exceptional pre-release business and witness enormous box office openings. Neel seems to have chosen to withhold significant elements for the ultimate big-screen experience.
While this strategy may prove successful, it brings to mind the question of whether even a master filmmaker like Rajamouli, known for his grand promotions, needs to engage in extensive marketing campaigns for his films. After all, people will flock to theatres to watch his movies regardless. Time will tell if Neel’s approach yields remarkable results at the box office. Salaar is slated for a grand release on September 28.
