2023 is becoming a more successful year for dubbed films than straight Telugu flicks. In a way, we can say that dubbed movies dominated the first half of this year. In January, Vijay scored a decent hit with Vaarasudu. Tamil hero Dhanush scored a super hit in February with his bilingual film Sir.
In April, Vijay Anthony hit the bulls-eye with his film Bichagadu 2. In May, Malayalam film 2018 earned good money in theatres. This is probably the first time dubbed films have recently dominated the Telugu film industry.
More dubbed movies are gearing up for release in the second half of 2023. Siva Karthikeyan, who shot to fame with films like Don, Doctor, and Prince, is now coming up with his new film Mahaveerudu. It is slated for a grand release on July 14.
Vijay Anthony, who scored a super hit with Bichagadu 2, is returning on July 21st with his new film Hatya. There are good expectations around this movie as well.
Superstar Rajinikanth will arrive in theatres on August 10th with his anticipated flick Jailer. Not only these, but we have the likes of Vijay’s Leo, Vishal’s Mark Anthony, Lawrence’s Chandramukhi 2, Dulquer Salmaan’s King of Kotha, Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal, and Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan lined up for release this year. So, dubbing films will generate huge revenue in Tollywood in the next few months.
